The Rami Levy Shivuk Hashikma chain began its story in 1976 as a grocery store in Jerusalem and over the years and decades, has grown into one of the biggest and most influential retail chains in Israel. In May 2007 the Company went public on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. From its establishment to this day, the Company has faithfully adhered to its strategy to offer “the lowest-cost basket of products in Israel, without compromising on quality and service” – in all five of the areas in which the chain operates:
Discount retail– Rami Levy Shivuk Hashikma is one of the biggest food retail chains in Israel, with annual turnover of about ILS 7 billion. The chain has 65 discount supermarkets, of which three are franchises selling under the “Rami Levy Shivuk Hashikma” brand. The Company intends to continue to expand in this area, at a launch pace of about 5 new stores a year.
City groceries– The Company runs 30 urban grocery shops branded “Rami Levy in the Neighborhood”, which adhere to the strategy – low cost, high quality and service – in city centers throughout Israel, with stores up to 1,000 square meters in area. The Company intends to accelerate the pace of establishment in the cities by opening about 70 new urban groceries in the Coming years.
Drugstores– The Company operates the Good Pharm drugstore chain (52% holding) which presently operates 80 drugstores around the Country. The Company plans to continue to expand the chain, at a pace of about 10 new stores a year.
Mobile Communications– Operating in cellular communications with a mobile virtual network operations license, the Company has more than half a million subscribers, and adds thousands more each year.
Stock– In 2026 the Company opened the first branch of Rami Levy Stock (51%), to import and retail non-food items. The Company plans to expand its stock operations by establishing more branches over the years to come.
The Group presently employs about 7,500 people and records revenues of about ILS 8 billion a year. Over the years, the Group has built up a customer club that now has hundreds of thousands of members; an advanced logistics system with automated warehousing; technical innovation and advanced customer service, and maintains operational efficiency. Since its IPO, the Company has distributed more than ILS 2 billion in dividends to shareholders in aggregate.
